New processor for smartphones at Texas Instruments: up to 20 MP resolution and high definition video

In the last period we have witnessed a proliferation of new smartphones capable of taking quality images by implementing the latest generation sensors. A significant advance could lead to short the market when the new processors will be announced in recent days by Texas Instruments Incorporated.

They are called OMAP-DM515 and OMAP-DM525 so you can shoot images with a resolution of, respectively, 12 and 20 megapixels. A great leap forward when one considers that the resolution of processors installed on smartphones that are currently arriving in stores, at most, to 12 megapixels.
